A popular theme of the fashion pages these days. I found this very appropriate article, which refers back to the beginning of the 20th century, which was about the earliest period of glamorous homewear that a normal woman might actually still be able to wear without either a corset or a ladies' maid in attendance.

Tea-gowns of the first couple of decades of the 20th century are gorgeous beyond words. However, the glories of a Poiret or Lucille teagown might be a bit much for your average video-conference, and I find the 1920-30s lounging-pyjamas and beach pyjamas elegant, comfortable, and suitable for most occasions.

Second-hand patterns for lounging/beach pyjamas are readily available, and there are historical-pattern firms that have published reproduction sewing patterns for them.
