The curry-leaf bushes are growing nicely. Housekeeper harvested three more citrons (smallish - a mere 1 kg each or thereabouts), and julienned and candied them. I have mountains of candied citron in the freezer now. Never mind, it will keep, and a couple of pieces after dinner every night will satisfy the desire for dessert. The flavour is very intense, I couldn't eat it in large quantities anyway.

Nesting season is imminent. Sparrows are checking out AirBNB, the housing for the airconditioning unit outside the kitchen (hugely popular in high season, a constant stream of tenants). Magpie robins are singing territorial songs, bulbuls are eyeing the bushes where they nested last year, and Bus-stop cat is eyeing them in turn.

Ah, cool, prompted me to look online to discover what magpie robins are. (-:

I love that you have a bird AirBNB, what fun. Now I'm going to look at pictures of magpie robins and bulbuls.

Ooh, I love the bulbul's red cheek! And the magpie robin really does have magpie coloring.

I have yellow-vented ones and red-whiskered ones. --This is like a fairy tale. More bulbuls to look at!
