Nature update

Sparrow AirBnB has its first family of the season! We heard subdued cheeping from the nest yesterday(newly rebuilt - we clear the old ones at the end of every season, to avoid nasty buildups of egg-shells, vermin etc), which means that the eggs have hatched.

Luckily the Beastie Boys were occupied by a spirited exchange of personalities with The Cat Next Door (luckily next door is higher up the slope from us and a seven metre wall separates them) and appear not to have noticed them so far. Once the babies start fledging, we will have to maintain Constant Vigilance to ensure that their first flight is not their last....
