Omicron(3)

One more driver and a researcher down, and a lot more maintenance people.

On the bright side, the ones who were sick are recovering quickly. Much faster than from Delta. We let them come back after two negative tests in a row.

I'm still negative (everyone testing daily), but have a bit of a nasal drip. Will try the allergy medication (cautiously) and see if it improves.

Someone told me that masks are bad because they inhibit social interaction. An Aussie, so I will concede that their social interactions are probably quite different from the kind that I am used to. I do not feel the need for extended banter with people who serve me in shops. "Good morning, are you well?" in the local language, and the appropriate response, isn't impeded by a mask. And if I am interacting more extensively with anyone else, then they know me already and I know them. It doesn't impeded recognition or conversation, any more than if I were talking to someone wearing a niqab, at least if their eyes were showing (the full-face ones are tricky, much like people wearing mirrored sunglasses, or opaque motorbike helmets).
