One of the useful conditions for long-term marital harmony is the ability to have separate bathrooms. Or at least a double washbasin. A hotel suite that I stayed in once had a nice corridor set-up, with bath and separate shower enclosure and one basin (all fully tiled, Southeast Asian bathrooms have always been " wet rooms" by default) at one end, the wardrobe space in the middle, and the toilet and another basin at the other end, with sliding doors to block off each section as necessary for privacy, and more sliding doors all along one long side, so that the bedroom section could reach the wardrobe section directly and the foyer could reach the toilet (for visitors). It was very clever.
In a private house, it would be best to have windows at each narrow end of the corridor ie the bath and toilet sections, for light and for through ventilation.
