I actually did the incredulous laughter thing when I saw this. One year and more than seven hundred thousand fellow citizens dead, and they're still fussing over such a small and simple behavioural change.

The curry-leaf bushes are growing nicely. Housekeeper harvested three more citrons (smallish - a mere 1 kg each or thereabouts), and julienned and candied them. I have mountains of candied citron in the freezer now. Never mind, it will keep, and a couple of pieces after dinner every night will satisfy the desire for dessert. The flavour is very intense, I couldn't eat it in large quantities anyway.

Nesting season is imminent. Sparrows are checking out AirBNB, the housing for the airconditioning unit outside the kitchen (hugely popular in high season, a constant stream of tenants). Magpie robins are singing territorial songs, bulbuls are eyeing the bushes where they nested last year, and Bus-stop cat is eyeing them in turn.
