A few of the citrons never made it to citron size, and started turning yellow when merely the size of normal lemons. So instead of candying them, I told the housekeeper to cut the peel into thin strips and dry them in a low oven, and use them as an additive to tea. I'd bought something similar in Istanbul Airport once, in transit, and it was delicious. I thought at the time that it was lemon, but it might well have been citron, from the strong flavour.

Just had some, it's great.
Is not leather. Manufacturers should just be honest and call it whatever it is, plastic, or cork, or compressed paper pulp or whatever. Or even, at a pinch, "artificial leather".
