Quinces have arrived!
Nov. 2nd, 2020 12:45 pmLots of them, in a box, straight from the family that grows them, and picked for me by hand, so they will keep longer. Hopefully this is the beginning of a long and happy relationship through the years...
They are about half the size of European quinces, I am not sure if they are Cydonia, Pseudocydonia or Chaenomeles, but what the hell. Tomorrow I buy more sugar, and we can hopefully start making cotignac. I have enough for multiple batches, so we will experiment - ginger, lemon peel, candied limes, dried citron peel, cloves, plain, the possibilities are many.
