Observation about ideologically-framed conflicts aka 'culture wars'

An ideologically-based personal insult only affects someone who shares that ideology (we are not considering the situation where the country or society enforces that ideology upon the population generally).

An insult from someone whom you despise has no emotional effect, regardless of whether the insult is actually accurate or not.
